Fertilization Technician

Position Summary

 The Fertilization Technician is responsible for applying fertilizers to lawns, palms, and landscaped areas on a scheduled basis to promote healthy growth and appearance. This role ensures that all applications meet contract specifications for nutrient content, frequency, and reporting, while safeguarding environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly fertilizer applications for turf areas using approved product blends.
• Apply palm fertilizer/disease treatments twice annually during the rainy season.
• Ensure fertilizers meet required nutrient specifications (e.g., slow-release nitrogen, magnesium, manganese, iron).
• Conduct inspections of turf and palm health to identify nutrient deficiencies and report findings.
• Follow weed control schedules (November–March), applying herbicides as required for invasive weed management.
• Maintain detailed application logs, including type of product used, quantity applied, and coverage area.
• Store and handle fertilizers safely, in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Assist in monthly quality checks to confirm visible results and plant health improvements.
• Report any deficiencies or additional needs to the Senior Supervisor.

Qualifications

• FDACS Limited Commercial Fertilizer License (LF) (required).
• 1–3 years of experience in lawn, palm, or ornamental fertilization preferred.
• Knowledge of fertilizer formulations, herbicide application, and seasonal programming.
• Ability to safely handle and apply fertilizers and herbicides.
• Physically able to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Strong observation and reporting skills.
