Outpatient Mental Health Therapist

Encompass Life Therapy
Layton, UT Part Time
POSTED ON 8/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/22/2026

Encompass Life Therapy is seeking a compassionate, curious, and growth-oriented mental health therapist who is interested in developing expertise in Lifespan Integration (LI) a trauma-resolution therapy.

Our practice specializes in Lifespan Integration, and we are looking for a clinician who doesn't simply want a place to see clients—but wants an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop as a trauma therapist within an LI-focused practice.

Previous Lifespan Integration training is not required. In fact, this may be an excellent opportunity for a clinician who has been wanting to learn LI and is looking for a practice where they can receive training, clinical support, and ongoing exposure to the model.

We welcome both fully licensed clinicians and newer clinicians who are working toward independent licensure.

Our therapists work with individuals, children, adolescents, and families experiencing concerns related to trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and other mental health concerns.

Because Lifespan Integration is central to the work we do, the ideal clinician will be genuinely interested in learning the model and incorporating LI into their clinical practice.

Why Join Encompass Life Therapy?

This position may be a particularly good fit for a clinician who:

  • Wants to deepen their understanding of trauma and attachment
  • Is interested in becoming trained in Lifespan Integration
  • Enjoys learning and developing new clinical skills
  • Values consultation, collaboration, and continued professional growth
  • Wants to work in a practice where trauma treatment is a specialty rather than an occasional part of the caseload
  • Is looking for a supportive environment in which to develop confidence and clinical expertise
  • Values thoughtful, ethical, relationship-centered mental health care

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and/or family therapy to clients
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs
  • Utilize trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Learn and incorporate Lifespan Integration into clinical practice
  • Participate in clinical consultation, training, and professional development
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and HIPAA requirements
  • Provide telehealth services when appropriate
  • Collaborate with other clinicians within the practice
  • Maintain strong ethical and professional standards
  • Be available for some evening appointments

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution
  • Current Utah mental health license or associate license, such as CSW, LCSW, CMHC, ACMHC, LMFT, or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish therapeutic relationships with a variety of clients
  • Interest in trauma, attachment, and experiential approaches to psychotherapy
  • Desire to continue learning and developing clinical skills
  • Ability to receive consultation and incorporate clinical feedback
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families is preferred but not required
  • Previous Lifespan Integration training is a plus, but not required
