Be the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor You've Always Aspired to Be
Your impactful journey involves:
- Administers medical gas, breathing therapy modality, and medication per physician written order.
- Recommends and implements appropriate alterations to therapy based on observations.
- Performs arterial blood gas sampling and transport.
- Interprets results and alerts appropriate personnel of abnormalities.
- Demonstrates proper chest physiotherapy and postural drainage techniques.
- Ensures staff function per guidelines of National Board of Respiratory Care, other practice acts.
- Provides appropriate direction and supervision for Respiratory Care Practitioners.
- Interviews and selects Respiratory personnel for employment.
- Verifies hours worked by employees and completes required payroll reports.
- Demonstrates awareness of budget parameters and meets hospital guidelines with cost.
- Supervises new staff orientation to hospital/dept. process, policy, procedure, and documentation.
- Utilizes continuing education to keep abreast of current advancements related to pulmonary care.
Qualifications
- Current State License in Respiratory Therapy
- CPR certification
- ACLS certification preferred
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- 2 years hospital experience in Respiratory Therapy preferred
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
