POSITION PURPOSE
Encompass Health Corporation's HR Intern will get to serve as a part of a dynamic team of Human Resources experts within our corporate office. You will be exposed to a wide variety of disciplines within Human Resources and gain experience through cross-functional projects and administrative support to the broader HR team. Functional areas of support, include but are not limited to: Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations. .
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Support projects and initiatives across Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations on HR best practices, workforce trends, and employee engagement strategies.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including job posting reviews, candidate sourcing, resume screening, recruitment marketing efforts, and career fair preparation.
- Support employee relations initiatives through data gathering, trend analysis, and preparation of resources and communications.
- Assist with organizational development programs, including leadership development, learning initiatives, talent reviews, and employee engagement activities.
- Participate in pre-boarding and onboarding activities for new employees.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support HR initiatives.
- Complete all tasks and assignments accurately and timely.
- Proactively seek opportunities to learn about the company and Human Resources profession.
- Participate in intern-specific programs and activities, as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in a college or university (Junior/Senior level students preferred).
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Coursework or experience related to Human Resources is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to work in our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama from Monday, June 7th, 2027, to Friday, July 30, 2027
