Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Provider to foster meaningful connections with the client they support and promote positive community interactions/experiences for youth.
This role involves planning and developing activities to engage the client in new experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, leadership skills, and a passion for inclusion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact.
This position takes place afterschool and weekends as the client is in school full time. 5-20 hours available depending on staff/client scheduling.
Duties
- Build trusting relationships with client by offering consistent support and encouragement
- Follow individualized plans to support personal, social, and educational development
- Assist client in setting goals related to behavior, education, and life skills
- Provide mentorship through one-on-one interactions and community engagement
- Collaborate with professionals to coordinate care and support strategies
- Support client in developing conflict management skills and positive social behaviors
- Facilitate activities that promote behavioral health awareness and social skill development
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress notes, and program participation
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols during interactions
Qualifications
- Experience or background in special education, social work, behavioral health, or child welfare preferred
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring or teaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire youth
- Knowledge of conflict management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse populations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support youth development and well-being
- Relevant certifications or training in childcare, mentoring, or social services are a plus
