Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic tutor to support elementary and/or middle school students in their academic journey. This is an in person position, located in the Friendswood area. Duties
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and the student's individual needs
- Use learning technology tools and hands-on learning techniques to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on core subjects such as math, reading, science, and social studies
- Manage student behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, strategies to work on outside of school/tutoring, and areas for improvement
Skills
- Strong tutoring and teaching skills across various subjects for elementary to middle school levels
- Effective student management techniques to maintain an organized and respectful environment
- Experience working with children
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to support student success
All tutors work as Independent Contractors, tutors are classified as a 1099 independent contractor rather than an employee. This means the company will not withhold taxes from your payments, and if you earn $2,000 or more in a year, you'll receive a Form 1099-NEC (Nonemployee Compensation) by January 31 reporting your earnings to you and the IRS. The amount you invoice us for tutoring services, you will be paid without any withholding. You'll be responsible for paying self-employment taxes, and filing your own taxes using that form, while enjoying the flexibility to create your own lessons and work methods independently.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
