Position Overview
W.W. Hastings Hospital (Cherokee Nation) is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN (Level 1) to provide high-quality patient care in a culturally diverse environment. The RN will oversee patient assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation, documentation, and coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments, interviews, and patient history.
- Incorporate cultural, religious, psychosocial, and physical needs into care planning.
- Initiate emergency measures when physicians are not immediately available (e.g., CPR, resuscitative efforts).
- Administer prescribed treatments including medications, IV therapy, respiratory support, and mechanical ventilation when required.
- Educate patients and families on preventive, curative, and rehabilitative measures.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and collaborative care activities.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Assign and oversee delegated tasks to LPNs and unlicensed staff.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical oversight to the care team.
- Maintain unit safety, supplies, and equipment.
- Uphold professional, ethical, and legal nursing standards.
- Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg RN experience
- Active Oklahoma or Compact RN License
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Must be able to care for Pediatric patients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet physical demands: standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and all pre-employment credentialing
- Attire: Navy Blue Scrubs
Pay: $1,800.00 - $2,000.00 per week
