Position Overview
SummaCare is seeking experienced and customer-focused Member Services Representatives to support its Medicare member services team. This position requires professionals with strong customer service, call center, or administrative support experience who can effectively assist members, resolve inquiries, and provide accurate information regarding health insurance benefits and services.
Candidates must be local to the Akron/Canton area, as initial training and occasional onsite work requirements will be conducted at the SummaCare office.
Training & Work Arrangement
- Mandatory in-person training for approximately 4 weeks (Monday–Friday).
- Following successful completion of training, the position will transition primarily to remote work.
- Employees may be required to attend additional onsite meetings, training sessions, or business-related activities throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Candidates must maintain residence within the Akron/Canton area for consideration.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound member inquiries regarding Medicare plans, benefits, eligibility, claims, billing, and coverage.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate and timely resolution of member concerns.
- Document member interactions and maintain records in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Research and resolve complex issues while coordinating with internal departments as needed.
- Educate members on available healthcare services, programs, and plan benefits.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and member confidentiality requirements.
- Meet established productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction standards.
- Utilize multiple systems and applications simultaneously while managing member interactions.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing similar responsibilities.
- Customer service experience in a call center, healthcare, insurance, or administrative support environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computers, data entry, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must successfully complete a typing assessment prior to interview.
- Must reside within the Akron/Canton area.
Preferred
- Experience working with Medicare plans and healthcare insurance programs.
- Prior health insurance customer service experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology, insurance benefits, and claims processes.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
