Responsibilities

• Assist certified swim instructors in delivering engaging swimming lessons tailored to different skill levels and age groups
• Support water safety measures by monitoring participants during lessons and ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Help with organizing lesson plans, activities, and drills that promote skill development and confidence in the water
• Engage with students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage progress and enjoyment of swimming
• Contribute to behavior management by maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners
• Participate in training sessions to learn proper teaching methods, rescue techniques, and emergency procedures
• Support the setup and cleanup of equipment before and after lessons to ensure a smooth instructional flow

Qualifications

• Previous lifeguard experience or certification is highly desirable
• Passion for sports coaching, teaching, martial arts (such as Karate or Judo), or physical education
• Experience working with children or students in educational or childcare settings
• Knowledge of swimming techniques, martial arts, cheerleading, climbing, or basketball is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage behavior effectively
• Enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to water safety and participant development
• Ability to work well within a team environment at a health club or gym setting
