Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to join the Port Elizabeth team,
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction
activities on-site
- Manage site labour, subcontractors, and
suppliers to ensure productivity and efficiency
- Allocate tasks and monitor work performance to
ensure project milestones are achieved
- Interpret and implement construction drawings,
plans, and specifications
- Ensure all work is carried out according to
approved designs and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and report on site
activities to project management
- Identify and resolve site-related challenges
and delays
- Lead, motivate, and supervise construction
teams
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and site briefings
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, and workforce
productivity
- Ensure employees are trained and equipped to
perform their duties safely and effectively
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance
with project specifications and industry standards
- Enforce compliance with the Occupational
Health and Safety Act and site-specific safety requirements
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and
risk assessments
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors use
appropriate PPE
- Monitor material usage and control wastage
- Coordinate the delivery, storage, and usage of
construction materials
- Ensure plant, machinery, and equipment are
operated safely and maintained appropriately
- Report equipment defects and arrange repairs
when necessary
- Liaise with project managers, engineers,
architects, consultants, and subcontractors
Requirements
- Grade
12
- Qualification
in Construction, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5
years' experience in the construction industry
- At least
2-3 years' experience in a Foreman or Site Supervisory role
- Proven
experience supervising teams on commercial, residential, industrial, or civil
construction projects
- Experience
managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on site
- Ability to
read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid drivers license
