What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer II (Electric Distrubition) position at EN Engineering LLC?
We're seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects by designing reliable overhead and underground distribution systems and assisting with major utility upgrades. What You’ll Do:
Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings.
Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects.
Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work.
Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.
Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.
Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.
Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
- 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
- Preferred software knowledge includes GIS, pole modeling tools (O-Calc, PoleForeman, Katapult), AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.
- Client Facing Experience / construction support.

- The specific amount within this range will be influenced by the work location and various factors, such as internal equity, professional skills, work experience, and pertinent education or training. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
