What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist I, Neuroscience position at Emulate?

Emulate is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Scientist I to support our development of new biological products in the area of Neuroscience. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, interfacing with multiple teams across our BioInnovations, Platform, and Product Management organizations.   • Update your knowledge of applicable industry best practices.

  • Independently execute studies according to study plans. 
  • Contribute to preparing relevant documents such as cell lot release forms and certificates of analysis.

  • Perform daily work according to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lab Operations Documents (LOPs) etc.
  • Document all daily work, observations, and results in a laboratory notebook.
  • Participate in data analysis and study report preparation.
  • Present results in meetings and suggest process improvements as needed. 

You are HUMAN and will: 

  • Provide technical assistance to other teams if needed. 

You are ONE and will: 

  • Coordinate study execution with project team members from different departments. 

Desired Skills: 

  • BS in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with 1-2 years of professional research experience or MS in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field with 0-2 years of professional research experience
  • At least 1 years of cell culture experience, preferably with human IPSCs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide possible solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of statistics and using in vitro models is desirable.
  • Experience with immunofluorescent staining and imaging techniques is desirable.
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as MSD, qRT-PCR, and flow cytometry is a plus.
  • Experience with complex in-vitro model systems is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory environment.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
