Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating heavy-duty floor cleaning and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of floor care chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in floor care or maintenance from a recognized institution.
  • Experience working in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with different types of flooring materials such as concrete, tile, vinyl, and hardwood.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heavy-duty floor cleaning machines such as scrubbers, buffers, and polishers to clean and restore floor surfaces.
  • Perform routine inspections of flooring to identify areas requiring repair, deep cleaning, or refinishing.
  • Apply appropriate cleaning agents, sealants, and finishes to protect and enhance floor surfaces according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with facility management to schedule floor maintenance activities minimizing disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and supplies inventory.
  • Respond promptly to urgent floor cleaning or repair requests to maintain a safe environment.

The Heavy Duty Floor Tech utilizes technical skills daily to operate and maintain specialized floor cleaning machinery safely and efficiently. Attention to detail is essential for identifying floor imperfections and applying the correct cleaning or repair methods to extend floor life.
