EMR is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Accountant to take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting operations for our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on role that blends accounting, administrative, and financial responsibilities, playing a critical part in the financial accuracy and operational success of the Fab Shop. This position will be responsible for all accounting functions related to the Fab Shop — from transactional processing (AP/AR) and cost tracking to month-end close activities. You will work closely with the Purchasing Department, operations, and finance to ensure accurate job costing, inventory tracking, and financial reporting. This role will be worked 100% onsite in Camden, NJ. There is no opportunity to go remote or hybrid. The annual salary is $80 – 100k.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain job folders, ensuring alignment between shop operations and financial records.
Oversee end-to-end accounting for the Fab Shop, including AP, AR, inventory, and WIP tracking.
Monitor and track job-level costs: labor, materials, internal transfers, and third-party vendors.
Process vendor invoices, match with POs/receiving records, and properly code to jobs or departments.
Collaborate with Procurement and site supervisors to resolve discrepancies and ensure complete documentation.
Reconcile fabrication-related balance sheet accounts, including accruals and inventory.
Generate customer invoices upon job completion and manage application of payments and aging balances.
Prepare and post month-end journal entries, accruals, and allocations.
Maintain logs of open POs, invoice approvals, and payment statuses.
Assist in compliance and documentation control, including audit requests and vendor setups.
Coordinate with HR/payroll on Fab Shop labor timekeeping issues.
Contribute to internal reporting, dashboards, and cost center summaries for leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or operations finance role
Strong knowledge of general ledger, job costing, and month-end close
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
Experience with MS Dynamics 365 is a plus
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with purchasing, operations, and finance
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Yearly salary $80 – 100k/yr
