JOB SUMMARY:
Quality Assurance Supervisor reports to the Quality Manager or Director, with primary responsibility of administration of the Quality Management System (QMS) and to supervise QA personnel and functions designed to inspect and assure quality products and services are delivered as promised and on schedule.
Help to Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) through validation of the quality and compliance of facilities, equipment, personnel, methods, processes, and procedures all conform both to internal guidelines and external regulatory and industry standards. Communicates these requirements to management and staff. Interprets quality and reliability requirements and/or industry standards and trends are in alignment with the quality policies, procedures and guidelines used in the operation and where these are capable of being measured as defined by the QMS (contract review).
Supports department planning, and strategy decisions and works directly with the Quality Manager for the oversight and Supervision of QA activities and ensuring resources - including staffing, tools, and training – are available and planned.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor serves as part of the functional supervisory team and contributes effectively to align business strategy and department goals while collaborating activities with other managers/ supervisors to meet company and business goals and objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in quality engineering, engineering, or related field; or the equivalent as a combination of education and working experience.
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated success leading, directing and motivating QA personnel in a production environment and is trained in problem solving and internal auditing of the quality systems capable of producing results in compliance with aerospace/military/defense/medical devices and similar industries.
Strong communication skills including in English and the ability to work with a PC and various hardware/software including engineering modeling, process flow, ERP, and MS Office Suite.
Exhibits versatility, flexibility, team building, leadership, and a willingness to work within a system of constantly changing priorities with accuracy and enthusiasm.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Self-directed and working with limited supervision, relies on extensive experience and judgment to provide leadership and guidance to the quality assurance team who provides support to operations by reviewing and comparing the adequacy of documentation and inspecting and measuring the inputs/outputs of processes and resources to ensure processes are meeting specifications.
Knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO9001/AS9100), and industry standards governing the workmanship of electronic assemblies (IPC-610, IPC-830), Mil Spec (Mil-I-46580) and medical materials and devices (FDA)
Experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Keeps informed on legal and industry compliance that may impact commerce such as FAR/DFAR/ITAR, NIST, RoHS/REACH, import/export compliance and other commerce protocols.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the control of quality function from in-coming/pre-inspections to in-process and final inspections.
Manages all non-conforming materials in segregation and resolution reporting as required by customers.
Coordinates resources - including QA personnel, training, and inspection tools - are available to fulfill commitments by reviewing and understanding forecasts, schedules, drawings, schematics, blueprints, sketches, SOPs, and work instructions.
New Product Introduction/First Article Inspection (NPI/FAI) – Coordinates with engineering and operations to review customer requirements ensuring in-process inspections, procedures and test methods are trained and implemented and can produce quality results that meet expectations.
Conducts internal audits of the QMS and reports results to management.
Coordinates external quality audits by customers, industry organizations, regulatory and certification agencies, and escorts customers/agents while on-site for audits and inspections.
Collaborates with engineering and operations to review quality performance and perform workflow analysis using this information to enhance productivity and improve quality outputs
Monitors and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Provides statistical overviews and analysis of this data and publishes reports and graphics designed to inform and encourage improvements in quality, costs, yields and customer satisfaction.
Approved Supplier List (ASL) - works with materials manager and engineering to develop raw material standards and testing that meets manufacturing and engineering requirements and to formulate qualifications and procedures for approved materials and suppliers be included.
Working with sales, establishes procedures for communicating with customers on reporting non-conforming materials and resolving quality issues with corrective/preventative actions, methods, and procedures.
Facilitates and oversees the NCMR/CAPA management reporting system.
Maintains the NCMR and CAPA quality control system by working with functional managers and supervisors to collect, analyze, and summarize information, pointing out trends and working with engineering and the customer to resolve root cause issues and bring continual improvement.
Help to implement and manage department budget and capital projects to meet department and company goals and expenses are managed within budget guidelines and constraints.
Adheres to company safety procedures and strives for the best methods and materials to meet requirements. Abides by the rules and regulations defined by the Employee Handbook for the ethical behavior, legal and safe conduct in everything we do and for encouraging teamwork.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Helps to Recruit, interview, selects, trains, coaches, and provide leadership to QA staff members that customer needs and industry standards are met.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
Provides planning, assigning, and directing of work activities.
