As an SAIOP Clinician, you’ll provide structured group and individual substance use treatment to adults working toward recovery. You’ll bring motivation, compassion, and strong clinical skills to help clients build the tools they need for lasting success.

📚 What SAIOP Is (NCDHHS Service Definition)
According to NCDHHS, Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) services include:
- Group therapy several times per week
- Individual counseling and motivational interventions
- Family education and involvement when appropriate
- Psychoeducation on addiction, relapse prevention, coping skills, and daily living skills
- Recovery skill-building
- Coordination of care and linkage to community resources
SAIOP is intended for individuals with substance use disorders who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy but do not require residential treatment.
Your role is to bring these services to life with authenticity, energy, and expertise.
💬 What You’ll Do
- Facilitate engaging, evidence-based SAIOP group sessions 3 times per week
- Provide individual counseling using motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with NCDHHS requirements
- Lead family-focused sessions when needed
- Provide relapse prevention planning and crisis intervention
- Deliver psychoeducation around addiction, coping skills, triggers, and daily living skills
- Keep timely, accurate, high-quality documentation
- Work collaboratively with a supportive clinical team
🌱 What You Bring
- CCS, LCAS-A, or CDAC credential (required)
- Experience with substance use treatment and recovery models
- Exceptional group facilitation skills — you know how to create safe, positive, and engaging spaces
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to maintain structure, documentation, and clinical integrity
- Authenticity, empathy, and a passion for supporting recovery
