Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and securely. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure that goods reach their destinations on time while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across diverse routes such as local deliveries and long-haul OTR routes.
- Transport freight using refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment for automobile transportation and hazardous materials (hazmat).
- Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or potential delays.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials handling, flatbed hauling, tanker operations, and automobile transportation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle truck loading/unloading tasks safely.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan efficient routes for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Excellent manual handling skills for cargo loading/unloading tasks; physically capable of lifting heavy freight when necessary.
- Commitment to safety standards and adherence to all trucking industry regulations while maintaining a professional attitude on the road.
- To Have your own truck and trailer. We accept lease or rented but must have commercial insurance.
