What are the responsibilities and job description for the Autism Support Specialist position at Empowering Solutions LLC?
About the position:
We are a family in Lutherville, Timonium looking to add 1-2 autism support professionals to our team. The ideal candidate would have a special interest in designing meaningful activities, developing supportive routines, collecting and analyzing data, identifying patterns in behavior, and creating strategies that promote communication, independence, and success.
Shifts, Availability, Compensation:
Weekday and Weekend hours available with preference to those who can work 10 hour shifts. Compensation will be $25-$30 an hour based on experience. Benefits can be discussed based on weekly hours and probationary period.
Staff Duties
Staff will provide 1:1 support in the community and in the home implementing the following:
- Willing to learn how to use and facilitate Spelling to Communicate(S2C) to serve as a communication regulation partner
- Planning and engaging in meaningful activities in the community and home
- Increasing opportunities for independence by teaching communication, personal hygiene, functional academics, rec/leisure activities, social skills and daily living
- Daily data collection
- Behavior Support as needed - training and oversight provided by BCBA
- Participant enjoys many activities such as biking, hiking, swimming, cooking and being out in the community

Requirements
At least one year of ABA background
Current auto insurance, valid drivers license, and reliable transportation (will provide mileage reimbursement for participant transportation)
Clear background check

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
