Tax Preparer

Empowered 2 Profit is a women-owned, fast-growing accounting and tax firm serving small businesses across the United States. We provide white-glove tax preparation, bookkeeping, and profit-focused strategy for entrepreneurs who want clarity and confidence in their finances.

We are hiring a Tax Associate / Tax Preparer to join our expanding tax department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tax preparation, accuracy, and teamwork, and wants to grow into a senior tax or tax strategy role over time.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and file federal and state individual and small business tax returns
• Enter and review tax data in Drake Tax Software
• Review financial statements and tax documents for accuracy
• Communicate with clients to collect missing information
• Assist with sales tax filings and compliance
• Help respond to IRS and state notices
• Maintain accurate and organized client tax files

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of professional tax preparation experience
• Experience with 1040s and small business returns
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax rules
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Must be U.S.-based and able to work Eastern Time hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA
• Comfortable working in Drake Tax Software (preferred)
• Experience with sales tax and multi-state filings
• Prior work in a public accounting or small firm environment
