What are the responsibilities and job description for the JOURNEYMAN position at Empowered Electric?
Qualifications
You Don’t Need to be Told What to Do. Some companies micromanage. That’s not us. At Empowered, you should be able to independently install electrical materials for residential or commercial projects. In addition, you are ready to listen well and see tasks through to completion.Ideally, you have 3-5 years of experience, or you’re on your second year and are a Journeyman wizard.
Flip on the “People Person” Switch. Obviously, you’ll need to get the job done in an excellent and timely fashion. But when you work directly with service requests and customers, you make those people feel heard and taken care of - not frustrated and dumb.
Project Domination. We know bigger projects are a team effort. But you are able to handle, and lead, small-to-medium sized projects on your own or with a smaller team. You show up on time, take safety seriously and relentlessly pursue the task at hand.
An Emphasis on Mentorship. You are willing to learn from other quality electricians at Empowered. AND, you are willing to supervise apprentice electricians. We wan to serve and grow future generations of Kansas City’s premier Journeyman electricians.
Job Cost Reporting. As an industry necessity, you’re comfortable reporting job cost information - both labor and material costs.
Adhere to Guidelines. In our pursuit of excellence, we don’t mess around when it comes to OSHA regulations. Again, we care about all of you and wouldn’t put you in a position to compromise safety.
Bonus Points. If you have Journeyman or ABC certification (or something similar), then you’re ahead of the game. We also prefer OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour qualification. If you don’t have any of these but still feel passionate and ready to inquire, please reach out to learn more.
