Personal Support Staff

Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Staff to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in their home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Client rights and be committed to promoting the well-being and dignity of each individual. This role is essential in assisting with daily activities, medication administration, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all clients.

Duties

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and cooking.
• Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Administer medications according to established protocols while adhering to resident rights.
• Support social work initiatives by engaging residents in meaningful activities and providing companionship.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within their home, following all health and safety guidelines.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and concerns, advocating for their well-being.
• Participate in training sessions, including CPR certification and other relevant educational opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the DD/IDD population, nursing home or group home setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to upholding them.
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures.
• Ability to prepare meals that meet dietary requirements while considering individual preferences.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing care for others.
• CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
