Under general supervision, will develop and deliver comprehensive financial plans for Empower large- mega clients as part of dedicated services model and team. Strives to provide financial wellness and retirement solutions during all phases of a participant’s life. Delivers personalized consultations detailing solutions best suited to the retirement planning needs of Empower-Retirement clients. Provides guidance, advice, professional account management (MTR), financial wellness, and financial planning.

Our preference is for remote workers in the Northwest US region, and will also consider Chicago and DC metro areas.

You must be willing to travel to meet participants (Covid permitting).

What You'll Do

  • Develops and delivers comprehensive certified financial plans to participants as part of dedicated services team model for Large and mega customers Engage clients in needs-based dialogue to gain a thorough understanding of their needs and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Discuss all phases of comprehensive financial planning and offer Empower products and services where applicable.
  • Develops, maintains and fosters positive/enhanced working relationships with participants. Leverages Empower’s CONSULT model to identify participant needs.
  • Provides financial wellness and planning to a target group of Empower customers.
  • Obtains knowledge of the participant’s financial portfolio objectives, asset composition and past historical information and help them navigate to appropriate next steps.
  • Review client portfolios and acts as an investment adviser representative of Advised Assets Group using Empower’s managed account service.
  • Initiates proactive/follow-up phone calls on behalf of the participant to current or prior provider to coordinate next steps and implement client decisions.
  • Administrative duties: Documents calls using technological tools such as Salesforce.
  • Uses organizational skills to track core customer needs.
  • Participates in training sessions and staff meetings, and sharing new knowledge with teammates.
  • Provides education and point in time advice on topics to help a retirement plan participant become best prepared for retirement, including; My Total Retirement (managed accounts), rollover into plan options, optimized investment allocation and savings amounts, financial planning, general financial wellness, health savings accounts (HSAs), distribution options and additional products/solutions aligned with the customer’s needs.
  • Educates or advises participants on Empower Managed Account solutions, when appropriate, and enrolls participants into a Managed Account solution.
  • Build and solidify client relationships pre- and post-retirement through a distinctive experience that leverages the unique value proposition.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience CFP required, MBA preferred

REGISTRATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSING REQUIRED:

  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 registrations and life insurance licensing required within corporate-established timelines.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required

What Will Set You Apart

  • 3 years’ experience in financial services or 401k industry
  • Minimum 2 years in financial planning
  • Exceptional at delivering effective client consultations – always composed and professional
  • Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
  • Proven application of all aspects of a client’s financial picture, including investments, insurance strategies, tax planning, education planning, retirement planning, and estate planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented; able to manage many time-sensitive tasks simultaneously; pro-active self-starter, strong organizational skills and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create and present comprehensive financial plans one-on-one with clients.
  • Quickly establish trust and builds long-term client relationships
  • Proven ability to navigate multiple client needs, deliver on multi-product sales goals; analyzing and presenting investment portfolios to clients.
  • Comprehensive PC skills including the ability to quickly learn Empower Retirement’s record keeping system

Frequent use of office equipment including PC, phone, fax, copier. May sit for long periods of time. May stand, stoop, reach, pull and push on occasion Solid practical understanding of Great West/Empower’s policies and procedures as well as Great-West/Empower product offerings preferred. Actively seeks to pursue ongoing professional development to expand skills and remain current with industry trends.

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
