At Empower, the Senior Analytical Research and Development Scientist is key to advancing our mission of creating innovative, affordable medications that transform lives and expand access to high-quality healthcare. • Designs, optimizes, and validates robust analytical methods for characterizing drug substances and drug products across sterile and non-sterile dosage forms using techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-VIS), ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines including United States Pharmacopeia (USP), European Pharmacopeia, and International Council for Harmonisation (ICH).
• Oversees the execution of analytical testing to support formulation development, stability studies, and release testing, including evaluation of compatibility samples, formulation intermediates, drug substances, and final drug products.
• Supervises the execution of critical tests such as content uniformity, assay development, impurity analysis, and other product-specific analytical assessments to ensure quality and compliance.
• Ensures the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to junior scientists, fostering skill development and ensuring technical excellence within the laboratory team.

• Advanced technical proficiency in analytical methodologies (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, FTIR, dissolution testing, particle size analysis, sterility techniques) and instrumentation/software (e.g., Empower, ChemStation), with strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ICH guidelines, USP standards, Food and Drug Administration requirements, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical method development and testing within pharmaceutical or healthcare settings, with demonstrated expertise in aseptic techniques, regulatory compliance, and sterile compounding practices.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field; Master’s or Doctor of Philosophy in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Hazardous Drug Handling Certification and cGMP Training Certification are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
