The Non-Sterile Prep Technician ensures lab cleanliness, safety, and efficiency by maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and following safety protocols. This role supports Empower’s mission to deliver high-quality, affordable medications that improve lives.

• Neutralizes hazardous chemicals and cleans lab items using proper methods, including operating the Lancer washer and evaluating items for hand washing.
• Ensures all lab equipment and items are sanitized and dried using appropriate techniques, such as air pressure or drying racks.
• Maintains lab supply inventory, submits requisitions, and restocks lab areas with Personal Protective Equipment, supplies, and necessary devices.
• Keeps the washroom area clean, organized, and sanitized, performing daily mopping and sanitation to maintain safety and prevent cross-contamination.
• Follows safety protocols, responds to urgent situations, and works from supervisor instructions while reporting discrepancies to management.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Strong ability to read and follow technical instructions, work independently, and effectively manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in a lab or related sanitization role, such as dishwasher or porter, with the skills to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience is preferred.
