Job Title: Licensed Psychologist – VA Compensation & Pension Evaluations (1099)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Licensed Psychologist (PhD) to conduct VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) evaluations for Veterans. This role involves performing objective, structured psychological assessments to assist the VA in determining disability benefits.
This is a non-treatment, non-therapeutic role focused strictly on evaluation and documentation. Evaluations may be conducted in person and/or via telehealth, depending on assignment needs.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, compensated on a per-evaluation basis.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation & Assessment
Conduct structured psychological evaluations for Veterans based on VA guidelines
Utilize Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and standardized assessment tools
Gather relevant history through focused, objective interviews
Objective Reporting
Document findings clearly and concisely in VA-required formats
Provide factual, unbiased assessments without influencing outcomes
Complete and submit reports within required timeframes
Non-Treatment Role
No diagnosing for treatment, therapy, or medication management
Maintain strict boundaries between evaluation and clinical care
Professional Standards
Adhere to all ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards
Maintain professionalism when working with Veteran populations
Qualifications:
PhD from an APA-accredited program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology
Active Psychologist license (Arizona preferred or applicable state licensure)
Strong report-writing and documentation skills
Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols
Experience with evaluations or forensic/VA work is a plus
Compensation & Structure:
1099 Independent Contractor Position
$125 – $210 per evaluation (depending on type and complexity)
Flexible scheduling
Telehealth and in-person opportunities available
