Ed Specialist- Mild/Moderate Elementary Pool

The successful candidate will provide instruction, services, consultation, coordination, planning, evaluation and remediation for individuals with learning difficulties, at elementary level. The Education Specialist will consistently collaborate with other general educators on pre-referral interventions, in addition to providing referral and assessment services to the school/student community.   Key Responsibilities   Plan, organize, and direct a variey of programs, projects and activities related to special education.   Prescribe and implement behavior management techniques as appropriate.   Prepare reports, records, and files including, but not limited to student qualifications, dates of IEP meetings.   Monitor student progress and use data collection to support research-based instruction and to demonstrate student achievement.   Communicate with charter school personnel to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information related to special education.   Minimum qualifications:   Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university   California Education Specialist Instruction Credential   CLAD or BCLAD or equivalent   NCLB compliant   Learning Center experience preferred   Spanish-speaking preferred (at least basic communication skills)   Knowledge of:   Special Education instruction practices and law   Response to Intervention theory
