EMPOWER Broadband is a wholly-owned telecommunications subsidiary of Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative (MEC). This role ensures that fiber assignments are efficiently organized, accurately documented in GIS systems, and properly communicated to both internal and contracted splicing teams. The position serves as a liaison between engineering, construction, and field teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with company standards.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and/or Training:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. College degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in fiber optic project management, construction coordination, or splicing documentation.
- 3-5 years of fiber optic splicing assignment, splicing or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of GIS experience designing distributed split fiber optic networks equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Esri, ArcGIS, NISC, or similar).
- Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the company's insurance policy.
- Must have, or obtain, within six (6) months of hire, valid First Aid and CPR certificates.
