Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Job Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in connecting individuals with employment opportunities, particularly those with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs. This position involves building relationships with employers, providing workforce development support, and assisting clients in achieving sustainable employment. The Job Developer will utilize expertise in employment law, social work, and training to foster inclusive work environments and promote personal growth among clients.
Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities suitable for clients.
- Conduct outreach and recruitment efforts to engage individuals seeking employment, including those with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Assist clients through the entire employment process, including interviewing, resume building, and onboarding.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure successful job retention.
- Facilitate training and development programs aimed at enhancing clients’ skills and employability.
- Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, and other professionals to support clients’ holistic needs.
- Educate employers on labor laws related to employment of individuals with disabilities and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Track progress and maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and employment outcomes.
- Organize workshops on workforce development topics such as social skills, workplace etiquette, and job maintenance strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in workforce development, social work, or related fields such as teaching or addiction counseling is a plus.
- Knowledge of employment & labor law applicable to diverse populations.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Strong interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, and training skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and work collaboratively with community partners.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to facilitate training sessions effectively.
