VP, Crisis & Incident Management Lead (Americas Operational Resilience)

This senior leadership role drives the strategic and operational execution of the Bank’s crisis and incident management program across the Americas, ensuring the organization can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from all types of major disruptions.

As a core member of the Operational Resilience team, you will establish a proactive, risk-informed culture and serve as the senior escalation point for all significant incidents across the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Develop and implement a unified crisis and incident management strategy aligned with the bank's operational resilience framework and core business services.
• Translate complex regulatory requirements (FFIEC, DORA, OCC, PRA, etc.) into practical, actionable response strategies.
• Establish and lead regional crisis governance forums and escalation protocols.
• Collaborate on defining and testing impact tolerances (MTD/MTLD) with Business and Technology partners.

2. Incident & Crisis Response Command

• Serve as the lead coordinator for regional crises, providing structured, timely command, control, and executive communications.
• Maintain and continuously improve incident response plans, crisis playbooks, decision trees, and unified communication protocols.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for the management of all major incidents, including third-party and cyber events.
• Maintain a clear, auditable major incident log detailing decisions, timelines, and actions taken for audit readiness.

3. Program Optimization & Compliance

• Drive optimization of response processes using data analytics, metrics, and automation to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance (FFIEC, DORA, OCC, PRA) and lead all regulatory and audit preparation efforts.
• Conduct formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews to identify systemic issues and drive corrective actions.
• Integrate third-party and cyber risk response into playbooks, ensuring tested, joint-response capabilities.

4. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of incident managers, fostering a culture of excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop and execute training programs, including annual crisis simulations, tabletop exercises, and executive-level response testing.
• Oversee succession planning and skill development to future-proof the bank's resilience capabilities.

What You'll Bring

Core Competencies & Skills

• Crisis Leadership: Proven ability to command and coordinate complex incident responses across business, technology, cyber, and third-party domains under pressure.
• Regulatory Acumen: Deep expertise in financial compliance frameworks (FFIEC, DORA, PRA, OCC, etc.).
• Strategic Vision: Ability to define a long-term program strategy while driving meticulous tactical execution.
• Influence & Communication: Exceptional ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with executive leadership and diverse cross-functional teams.

Essential Experience & Education

• 10 years of experience in crisis management, incident response, operational resilience, or business continuity.
• Proven experience leading cross-border incident response and engaging directly with regulators.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Risk Management, IT, Business Continuity).

Desired Qualifications

• 3 years in a senior leadership role within the banking or financial services industry.
• Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or relevant certifications (CBCP, MBCI, CRISC, CISM, ITIL, etc.).
• Proficiency with incident management technologies and frameworks (NIST, FFIEC).

Reporting: This role reports directly to the Head of Resilience Management for the Americas and works closely with Technology, Risk, Legal, and Cybersecurity teams.
