MDM/RDM Architect
Contract to Hire
Hybrid 2-3 days onsite.
About the Role
The client is seeking an MDM/RDM Architect with strong expertise in Data Management and ETL services (ETL tools, SQL & SQL tools, job/process automation), on‑prem (Windows Server) and Azure cloud architecture (Data Lake), and technologies within the Healthcare Payer domain.
The candidate will work closely with the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) and stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities include solution architecture for Enterprise Information Management (EIM) applications, data movement using ETL & SQL tools, Master Data Management (MDM), Enterprise Reference Data Management (ERDM), and related data services including data virtualization, API integration, and data governance processes. The role also supports provider data remediation and provider reporting (regulatory & audit).
Key Responsibilities
- Strong background in master data management using ETL tools (Informatica Multi Domain MDM, Informatica MDM SaaS, DataStage, SAS DMA, etc.), developing complex SQL packages/procedures, databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server), SQL tools (SSMS, Toad), NoSQL DB, managing production environments, enhancing existing ETL jobs, and job schedulers (Tidal, etc.)
- Understand and maintain data management architectural standards and principles.
- Architect and improve solutions for sourcing data from on‑prem and external sources.
- Expertise in ETL tools, SQL queries, on‑prem databases, Azure Data Lake, and service integration frameworks (cloud‑to‑cloud, cloud‑to‑on‑prem).
- Guide design sessions and prototype new data solutions with business users.
- Serve as first‑level escalation for complex technical issues.
- Act as Application Architect in strategic technology planning.
- Understand business requirements for data and information to support enterprise strategy.
- Evaluate new technologies, architectural strategies, and processes to meet business challenges.
- Monitor compliance with architectural standards and ensure technical integrity.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to develop technology plans requiring multi‑domain integration.
- Solve complex problems with broad architectural implications.
- Participate in strategic planning for the information/data landscape and future‑state architectures for EIM (MDM & ERDM).
- Serve as SME for provider reporting and related initiatives.
- Demonstrate forward‑thinking and anticipate roadblocks.
- Interpret complex data and recommend strategic initiatives.
- Participate in provider and member data remediation and enrichment efforts.
- Guide data reconciliation processes and data audit/integrity checks.
- Improve data reusability, accessibility, and quality.
- Provide guidance on data quality monitoring and corrective actions.
- Define relationships with data owners and providers.
- Act independently to deliver projects on schedule, budget, and scope.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of relevant experience with tools such as Informatica IDQ/MDM, Informatica Multi Domain MDM, Informatica MDM SaaS, Azure Cloud, Data Lake, ADF, SAS DMA, DataStage, Oracle SQL Developer, SSMS, Tableau, Tidal, WinSCP, GIT, Visual Studio, HP Quality Center, Visual Studio Code, Acrobat Pro, Quest Directory Expert, SharePoint.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; or 10 years relevant experience with MS degree.
- Mandatory Healthcare Payer experience in MDM/RDM.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- TOGAF certification highly desired.
- Relevant domain certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of managed care industry data (claims/encounter, member/eligibility, providers, pharmacy, lab results, ADT‑CCDA, etc.)
- Experience in data analysis, data services, data publishing, and enrichment.
- Significant experience implementing and maintaining data service technologies.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to align data enrichment rules and data operations with business/IT.
- Advanced skills with ANSI SQL, Azure SQL, Databricks, ADF, Informatica MDM, Data Lake, and Microsoft products.
- Experience across the SDLC (plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement).
- Extensive healthcare data knowledge and advanced data modeling concepts.
- Strong organization, time management, and project management skills.
- Preferred experience in government health programs (Medicare/Medicaid).
- Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and flexibility.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Cloud.
- Experience in ETL processes, multi‑domain MDM, ERDM, Informatica IDQ/MDM, Informatica Multi Domain MDM, Informatica MDM SaaS, Data Lake, ADF, Lakehouse, and analytics frameworks.
- Exposure to HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
