POSITION SUMMARY
The West Coast Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the growth and execution of the company’s sales strategy in California. This role focuses on expanding into gyms, supplement shops, convenience chains, liquor stores, and lifestyle retailers.
The West Coast Sales Manager will build and manage a team of sales representatives, establish strong relationships with key accounts, and execute strategies to capture market share in the functional wellness and supplement space. Working closely with the CEO and CMO, this position turns brand vision into measurable market performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy & Execution:

Develop and implement a comprehensive California B2B sales strategy targeting gyms, supplement shops, liquor/convenience stores, and lifestyle retailers.

Set, track, and achieve revenue goals, sales targets, and KPIs for the region.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and lead a team of sales representatives, account managers, and field marketers.

Provide coaching, development, and ongoing performance management to drive a high-performing sales culture.

Account Development & Expansion:

Build strong partnerships with gym owners, retailers, distributors, and key decision-makers.

Secure placement in independent retailers and chains by negotiating deals and driving account growth.

Sales Operations & Processes:

Develop pitch decks, sales scripts, and account management workflows to ensure consistent messaging.

Manage the pipeline, oversee territory planning, route optimization, and CRM utilization.

Monitor P&L performance for the sales team and adjust strategies as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with the CEO and CMO to align sales activities with overall brand strategy.

Work closely with compliance teams regarding ingredient regulations.

Collaborate with marketing to deliver merchandising programs, POP displays, sampling activations, and local events.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience:

5–7 years of B2B sales leadership experience within CPG, supplements, beverage, cannabis, or wellness industries.

Demonstrated success driving multi-million-dollar revenue growth through retail account development.

Proven experience building and leading successful sales teams.

Strong network across California wellness retailers, gyms, distributors, and convenience store buyers.
