Packaging Operator
Department: Production
Reports To: Packaging Supervisor / Production Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Packaging Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently packaging finished products in accordance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate packaging equipment and tools in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines

Accurately package, label, and seal products to meet quality and regulatory standards

Inspect products for defects, accuracy, and compliance before packaging

Follow production schedules and meet daily productivity goals

Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Complete required production, quality, and inventory documentation accurately and timely

Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues to a supervisor

Comply with all company policies, including safety, attendance, and conduct standards

Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to support operational efficiency
Non-Essential / Additional Responsibilities

Assist with rework, inventory counts, or line changeovers as needed

Support training of new team members when assigned

Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English (or bilingual as applicable)

Basic math skills and attention to detail
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment

Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
-
Previous manufacturing or packaging experience

Familiarity with GMP, FDA, or regulated production environments
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and use hands for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift

Ability to work in a production environment with noise, temperature variations, and machinery
Work Environment

Manufacturing or warehouse setting

Exposure to moving machinery and production equipment
