JOB DESCRIPTION
The C1D2 Extraction Assistant, employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will work on-site at one of our brand partners' cannabis production facilities. This role is responsible for supporting the Extraction Technicians and Extraction Manager in performing extraction processes within a C1D2 (Class 1, Division 2) compliant environment. The Extraction Assistant will follow the direction of the Extraction Manager and assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) established by the Extraction Director. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of extraction processes, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Support Extraction Operations:
- Assist Extraction Technicians in conducting cannabis extraction processes, such as CO2 extraction, in a C1D2 environment under the direction of the Extraction Manager and in accordance with established SOPs.
- Help set up, operate, and maintain extraction equipment, including CO2 extractors, rotary evaporators, and other related machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper handling and storage of materials.
- Monitor extraction parameters and report any deviations or issues to the Extraction Manager.
Quality Control and Compliance Support:
- Assist in ensuring all extraction activities comply with state and local cannabis regulations, as well as the brand partner’s quality standards and SOPs.
- Help with regular quality checks on raw materials and final products to maintain consistency, potency, and purity.
- Maintain accurate records of extraction activities as directed by the Extraction Manager, including batch logs, equipment maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
Equipment Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of extraction equipment and work areas to ensure a clean and safe environment under the guidance of the Extraction Manager.
- Assist in the calibration and minor repairs of extraction equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Extraction Manager promptly.
Safety and Hazard Management:
- Adhere to all safety regulations for C1D2 environments, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire safety protocols, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions to stay current on emergency response procedures and safety practices.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with the Extraction Manager, Extraction Technicians, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on potential improvements to extraction processes and SOPs.
- Assist with other production tasks as needed to support overall facility operations and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience or education in chemistry, biology, or a related field is a plus.
- Some experience in a production or laboratory environment, preferably in the cannabis or pharmaceutical industries.
- Basic knowledge of cannabis extraction processes and safety protocols is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from the Extraction Manager and work effectively in a team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for cannabis extraction.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks typical of an extraction environment.
