I'm recruiting an Estimator to work for an established and successful aerospace industry manufacturing company in Milford, CT. Full time, direct hire position with a great benefits package!
Responsibilities
- This role supports the Engineering, Sales, and Production teams by providing detailed pricing information and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Calculate material, labor, and manufacturing costs based on technical data and historical information.
- Request and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors for materials or services.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, estimating tools, and documentation of pricing assumptions.
- Assist in the preparation of quotes, proposals, and bid packages for internal and external customers.
- Track and analyze estimate-to-actual cost performance for continuous improvement.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations to improve profitability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical drawings, and materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and estimating software.
- Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
