POSTED ON 6/16/2026 CLOSED ON 8/4/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager - Construction position at Employment Resource Group, Inc. An EOS company?

A confidential regional general contractor with a strong multifamily and mixed-use portfolio is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a high-growth office environment. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role with meaningful influence over office culture, operational practices, and client relationships — not simply to execute within a defined structure, but to help shape one. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of full-cycle project ownership on complex commercial projects, thrives in a field-engaged, player-coach capacity, and is motivated by a clear pathway toward Project Executive or VP-level advancement within a founder-led organization that rewards tenure, trust, and consistent delivery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement contract terms and conditions through established systems, policies, and procedures from bid through closeout.
  • Manage cost across the full project lifecycle including estimating, reporting, change orders, pay requests, and cash flow analysis.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules to ensure on-time delivery in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review, inspect, and test materials, systems, and workmanship to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Implement and monitor jobsite safety procedures in compliance with OSHA standards and subcontractor insurance requirements.
  • Build and maintain client relationships grounded in trust, communication, and consistent performance.
  • Lead subcontractors and project teams while remaining actively engaged in field execution.
  • Assess portfolio performance and surface early recommendations to improve schedule adherence, cost control, and quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to shaping office practices, workflows, and culture within a growing regional office.
  • Participate in proposal development and client-facing business development efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years managing multifamily, mixed-use, or commercial projects valued at $20M or greater.
  • Full-cycle project management ownership across contract administration, cost, schedule, quality, and safety on GC (subcontracted) delivery platforms.
  • Proficiency with construction management software including Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, Timberline, PlanGrid, Textura, and/or Field ID.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural plans as they relate to schedule, cost, and performance.
  • Midwest-based with demonstrated career stability and strong local market presence.

Preferred

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to influence office operations and accelerate toward a VP-level leadership trajectory.
  • Experience as a player-coach leading project teams while remaining engaged at the field and client relationship level.
  • Familiarity with multifamily pipeline dynamics and long-standing developer relationships within a regional GC environment.

Competencies

  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to engage effectively across clients, field staff, subcontractors, and senior leadership.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong analytical follow-through.
  • Client-focused with a demonstrated ability to build trust and sustain long-term relationships.
  • Forward-thinking; able to anticipate next steps and manage complexity across simultaneous project demands.
  • Comfortable with courageous conversations and calculated risk-taking.
  • High personal energy with the ability to sustain performance in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
