Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW) Outreach Worker (OW) will work with farmworkers, employers, agencies and community based organizations.  The OW will promote the programs and services the Employment Development Department (EDD) offers.  Employer field visits are conducted to educate employers on regulations and appropriate work conditions.  OW will conduct employer field visits to ensure employers are in compliance with the Department of Labor (DOL) laws and regulations.  The OW will take appropriate action to correct issues of non-compliance in addition to record complaints/concerns of the MSFW's.

OW provides customer service in offering avenues for training and/or employment referrals. The OW will work with partners to provide supportive services and resources. The OW will work with a diverse groups.  The OW will conduct CalJOBSSM registration, record services, enter case notes and assist with resume building. The OW will conduct presentations at community based organizations and participate in job and resource fairs. The OW works as a mobile office providing services within the EDD umbrella such as Disability, Unemployment Insurance and Paid Family Leave. The OW will log detailed monthly reports, and at the end of each month.  Provide a detailed report of the services provided and related contacts made.

This is a bilingual Spanish position and you must be able to read, write and speak Spanish.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change as business needs arise.

EDD employees will be required to report to their headquarters office on their assigned in-office days.  Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the EDD’s policies.

Travel may be required with this position.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
