Position: Battery Sorter
Pay $18.94 - $20.44
Shift:
1st shift 6am-2:30PM
2nd shift 2pm-10:30PM Train on 1st shift
3rd Shift 10 PM-6:30 AM Train on 1st shift
Role Overview:
As a Battery Sorter, your primary responsibility will be accurately identifying and sorting batteries based on their chemistry and type. This entails securely taping battery terminals and proficiently packing batteries using bags and boxes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be clean-shaven and capable of wearing a respirator!
- Prioritize health and safety by strictly adhering to warehouse safety protocols
- Identify and categorize batteries according to their specific chemistry
- Securely tape terminals/ends of batteries
- Effectively separate debris and non-conforming materials
- Store batteries and non-conforming materials in designated drums
- Ensure proper labeling of drums in alignment with regulatory guidelines
- Weigh and meticulously document materials processed
- Uphold general cleanliness standards within the work area
- Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Comfortably engage in standing or sitting activities for the majority of the shift
- Potential operation of a forklift for material transfer (specific locations)
Qualifications:
- - Must be clean-shaven and capable of wearing a respirator!
- Ability to frequently lift 10-40 pounds individually, and over 40 pounds with assistance
- Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Effective teamwork and communication abilities
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or GED
PPE:
Must provide your own Steel Toed Footwear. The company will provide safety training, eye protection, and respirators. You have to be clean-shaven in order to wear the respirator.
