As a Lactation Consultant you will be educating and supporting new moms while they are an inpatient and will continue the support by calling patients within a month of discharge to ensure all of the patient’s needs have been met. You will serve as an Educator/Consultant to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Women’s and Children service line when additional interventions are identified for the patient. Our unit has 28 beds unit.

Position: Lactation Consultant
Shift: Day/Evening hours A minimum of 24 hours per 6 week scheduling period of which 12 hours are on the weekend. Weekend shifts begin Saturday 0700 and end Monday at 0730. Holidays rotation based on need, determined by Manager.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience providing healthcare and /or education in Women’s Health preferred. Experience working as a Lactation Consultant in acute care setting is preferred.
Education:
1. Knowledge of fetal, newborn, and maternal anatomy/physiology.
2. Bachelor's Degree in related discipline preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
1. Current RN License preferred OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
2. Certification with the International Board Lactation Consultants Examiners required.
