Maintenance Technician – Injection Molding

We are currently seeking candidates with machine repair and maintenance experience for a Maintenance Technician role with a plastics manufacturing company in Akron, OH.

In this position, you will perform a variety of service functions including analyzing and correcting machinery and mechanical problems, repairing and overhauling equipment, and carrying out preventive maintenance on machinery and building systems. You will work closely with Injection Molding and Finishing management staff to ensure maximum production and quality.

Shift:
2nd Shift – 3:00pm-11:30pm

Pay:
$19-$24 Based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment/machinery and take corrective action

• Make running adjustments to maintain production and quality

• Perform scheduled maintenance, changeovers, and equipment testing

• Clear jams and make necessary adjustments to maintain production flow

• Service equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components

• Install, repair, and maintain machinery including some electrical/electronic systems

• Fabricate parts using machines and/or hand tools as needed

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime

• Follow all lockout/tag-out and safety procedures

• Advise management on potentially dangerous equipment or machinery issues

• Maintain department cleanliness and perform routine maintenance/cleaning duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer, Maintenance

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Vocational Education or higher in machine repair or related field

• 1 year of general maintenance experience (or equivalent education such as journeyman in a maintenance discipline)

• Strong knowledge of plastic injection machinery and finishing equipment

• Ability to read/write, follow instructions, and troubleshoot machinery/equipment issues

• Understanding of mechanical/electrical safe practices and OSHA safety procedures

• Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools (must provide own basic hand tools)

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as needed

• Good figure aptitude, arithmetic skills, and attention to detail
