Distribution Supervisor – First Shift (Canton, GA) Description:
As a Distribution Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in leading warehouse operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and organized distribution process. You’ll oversee daily shift activities, guide your team, and support continuous improvement across the board.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, evaluations, and performance management
Ensure a safe work environment and actively promote safety culture
Plan and assign work to maximize productivity using available labor and tools
Monitor automated equipment and perform/prevent downtime through proactive maintenance
Maintain high quality standards, reduce scrap, and minimize downtime
Collaborate with other departments and shift leaders to align goals
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S)
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Evaluate staffing needs and authorize overtime as required
Identify and resolve issues to maintain operational flow
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Minimum 5 years of experience supervising employees in distribution or warehouse settings
Strong communication and team-building skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, WMS/SAP experience, transportation/receiving knowledge, lean manufacturing exposure, blueprint reading
