- Location: 2020 S Webster Ave, Green Bay, WI 54301
- Hours: Full-Time 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm CST.
Job Description:
The Revenue Accountant reports to the Manager of Accounting and is responsible for maintaining high quality accounting and analytical analysis of net patient revenue and receivable. The role has ongoing interactions with the Directors in Finance, Revenue Cycle, Finance Administrators, Decision Support, Revenue Cycle Staff, and IT teams.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Perform analytical procedures over revenue generation. Thorough understanding of hospital and clinic revenue processes and continual evaluation of financial impacts.
2. Responsible for the development of analysis, calculations, and estimation of contractual reserves and percentages necessary for appropriate corporate and departmental financial reporting.
3. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of departmental and service line revenue.
4. Support the annual financial audit by completing work papers and footnotes related to patient revenue and accounts receivable.
5. Responsible for accounting related to all government, managed care, and capitation contracts.
6. Work with the Reimbursement and Tax Coordinator and outside consultants to ensure consistent, accurate, and efficient data extraction for the Medicare Cost Report and Home Office Report.
7. Design, prepare, and maintain various spreadsheets to support general ledger entries, ad hoc reporting, and analysis needs.
8. Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of communication, analytical reasoning and professional judgment, in both team and independent work environments.
9. Serve as a resource for internal departments requiring assistance with financial and accounting matters. Suggest ways to improve efficiency and work to enhance the usefulness and understanding of the data. Educate and assist with the identifications of financial issues.
10. General accounting tasks as determined by department and organizational needs.
11. Prioritize work demands to meet accuracy and timetable requirements.
12. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
13. All other financial analysis, project management, and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 2-5 years of healthcare accounting experience with knowledge in hospital and clinical based revenue and reimbursement required.
- Experience working with EPIC software preferred.
