About the Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated Procurement Buyer to join our growing team in Windsor Mill, MD. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-level professional who's passionate about purchasing, negotiation, and driving results in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in sourcing and acquiring materials and services essential to both commercial and government projects.
What You'll Do
- Manage RFQs/RFIs and process purchase requisitions for various materials and services.
- Conduct detailed price and cost analyses to ensure competitive and cost-effective purchasing.
- Negotiate supplier terms, conditions, and pricing to achieve the best overall value.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues.
- Accurately create and maintain purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Track supplier performance metrics such as On-Time Delivery (OTD) and cost savings.
- Ensure quality standards are met and oversee Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) when needed.
What You'll Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or subcontracts.
- Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and cable/harness documentation.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CPSM or CIPS (a plus, not required).
- A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
