Position Summary
Empire Solar is a fast-growing solar energy company that works with homeowners across all of New York State, helping them switch to clean, renewable energy while lowering their electricity costs.
We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to oversee the successful execution of residential solar projects from contract through Permission to Operate (PTO). This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the installation process.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Operations Management
- Oversee residential solar projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning and permitting through installation and Permission to Operate (PTO).
- Coordinate with internal departments including sales, engineering, permitting, scheduling, procurement, and installation to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and operational performance while proactively addressing delays or obstacles.
- Develop and improve operational workflows that increase efficiency, reduce costs, scale solutions, and improve the customer experience.
Permitting & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable local, state, federal regulations, and industry best practices.
- Oversee permitting activities and maintain strong working relationships with municipalities, inspectors, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and utility companies.
- Coordinate planning board and zoning board applications and approvals on behalf of customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies throughout the approval process.
Utility & Interconnection Coordination
- Manage utility interconnection requirements from application through final Permission to Operate.
- Coordinate electrical disconnects, reconnects, meter changes, and inspections with utility providers and homeowners.
- Work closely with utility representatives to resolve issues and minimize project delays.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support cross-functional operations teams to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Establish operational metrics and regularly review team performance.
Vendor & Customer Management
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, municipalities, and utility partners.
- Negotiate vendor pricing and service agreements to improve project profitability.
- Ensure customers receive timely communication throughout the installation process while maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
