Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, as well as a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation. This role requires proficiency in various mechanical systems, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed to repair or fabricate parts.
- Work with hydraulic systems to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar machinery and dealership practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in hydraulics, electrical systems, air brake systems, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
