Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Person to join our team at a busy food service establishment. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems
- Prepare and assemble some food items according to established recipes and safety standards
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change efficiently
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, including food handling and bussing duties
- Ensure food safety standards are met by following proper sanitation procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed in the kitchen or café area
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
- Restock supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and creating a positive dining experience
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales, and retail math calculations
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and good communication abilities. We need applicants to have great customer skills and communicate with the team and customers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food preparation, serving, bussing, or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or moving around the counter area.
- Candidates MUST be reliable.
