Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Land Analyst to support the Company’s land and regulatory operations. This role will assist with maintaining accurate land records, reviewing lease and ownership information, supporting drilling and operational activities, and coordinating with internal departments and external partners. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and experience within the oil & gas industry.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize land records, leases, contracts, division orders, and related documentation
- Review and analyze oil & gas leases, assignments, deeds, title opinions, and other land agreements
- Track lease obligations, expirations, renewals, shut-in payments, and other contractual requirements
- Support drilling, permitting, and operational activities through land research and coordination
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, ownership reports, and acreage summaries
- Coordinate with attorneys, brokers, operators, and regulatory agencies as needed
- Assist with due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions
- Monitor and update well, unit, and tract information in internal systems
- Support regulatory filings and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements
- Respond to internal and external requests related to ownership, contracts, and land records
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the Land department and leadership team
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Energy Management, Business, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of experience in oil & gas land administration or land analysis preferred
- Familiarity with leases, title documents, division orders, and land terminology
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with land software systems is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in upstream oil & gas operations
- Familiarity with iLandman Land Management System.
- Knowledge of regulatory processes in Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota, or other operating states
- Familiarity with GIS mapping or land database systems is a plus
