Travel Commercial Foreman

Empire Netting and Fence
Waverly, NE Full Time
POSTED ON 9/15/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/14/2026
Tired of being the person everyone depends on while working for a company that barely notices what you bring to the table?

You know how to run a crew. You can look at a set of plans, look at a jobsite, and figure out what needs to happen next. When problems show up, you don't stand around waiting for someone else to solve them.

But maybe you're ready for something more.

What would it look like to take that experience somewhere you can lead, travel, build impressive projects across the country, and create a better future for yourself and your family?

At Empire, we're looking for a Travel Commercial Foreman who takes pride in being the person others can count on.

Is This You?

You're a builder and a leader.

You don't need someone constantly telling you what to do. You plan ahead, communicate with your crew, hold people accountable, and aren't afraid to jump in alongside them when the work needs to get done.

You have grit when the days get long.

You believe loyalty goes both ways.

You do the right thing when nobody is watching because integrity matters to you.

You bring a positive mindset when a project throws something unexpected your way.

And while you work hard, you also believe in enjoying the journey.

That's how our people live. When they're not building, you'll find members of our team hunting, fishing, following sports, racing, spending time outdoors, or making memories with their families.

Could Empire be the place where your career finally fits the life you're trying to build?

What You'll Take Ownership Of

As a Travel Commercial Foreman, you'll lead crews installing multiple styles of commercial fence, railing, gates, and related systems at projects across the country.

You'll Be Trusted To

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop your crew.
  • Plan daily work and keep projects moving toward schedule and budget goals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and grade stakes.
  • Review jobsite layouts and verify utility markings and one-call requirements.
  • Calculate concrete requirements accurately.
  • Forecast manpower, materials, equipment, and upcoming jobsite needs.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
  • Communicate daily progress and jobsite needs with Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Operate and supervise the use of skid loaders, telescoping boom lifts, and other equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, tools, and an organized jobsite.
  • Identify problems early and take ownership of finding solutions.
  • Maintain Empire's expectations for safety, workmanship, and housekeeping.
  • Complete crew evaluations, including 60-day and other performance evaluations.
  • Handle corrective actions when necessary.
  • Help your crew understand not only what needs to happen, but why.
  • Lead by example every day.

This isn't a position for someone who simply wants the title of Foreman. We're looking for someone who wants the responsibility that comes with it.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with commercial construction leadership experience who is comfortable taking ownership in the field.

You Should Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. work authorization.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience leading and managing construction crews.
  • Strong blueprint-reading and jobsite layout skills.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as skid loaders and telescoping boom lifts.
  • OSHA 10 with the willingness to work toward OSHA 30; OSHA 30 is preferred.
  • Class A CDL is preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work Monday-Friday, weekends when required, 8-12 hour shifts, and overtime when projects demand it.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. unassisted and perform physical construction work in varying weather conditions, at heights, and in demanding jobsite environments.

What Could This Opportunity Mean for Your Life?

Traveling for work is a commitment. We know that.

That's why Empire pays for your hotel while traveling and provides $60 per day in per diem on top of your wages.

You'll earn $26.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience, while having the opportunity to grow your leadership skills, see different parts of the country, take on bigger projects, and build a career instead of simply collecting another paycheck.

Benefits Include

  • $26.00-$35.00/hour
  • Company-paid hotel accommodations while traveling
  • $60/day travel per diem
  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development assistance
