Job Description

Empire Mirror & Glass is looking for a skilled and dependable Glass Mechanic to join our team.
Responsible for cutting, polishing, installing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining glass products. The Glass Mechanic must be experienced in operating glass-cutting and polishing machines and must ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, pays attention to detail, and works well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate glass cutting machines and polishing machines safely and efficiently.
• Cut glass accurately according to measurements and specifications.
• Operate polishing equipment to achieve smooth, finished edges.
• Install, repair, and replace glass components.
• Measure and inspect glass for accuracy, quality, and proper fit.
• Set up and adjust cutting and polishing machines as needed.
• Identify and correct defects or imperfections in finished glass.
• Follow safety procedures when operating machinery and handling glass.
• Maintain and clean machinery, tools, and work areas.
• Perform quality control inspections on completed work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Glass Mechanic, Glass Installer, Glazier, or similar position preferred.
• Previous experience operating glass-cutting machines
• Previous experience operating glass-polishing machines
• Experience working with glass fabrication equipment and tools.
• Experience installing mirrors is preferred.
• Must be comfortable safely handling and lifting heavy glass.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.
• Strong measuring and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy glass with proper assistance when necessary.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to safely handle fragile, sharp, and oversized glass materials.
