Empire Landscape, LLC is seeking a qualified Environmental Cnstruction Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, overseeing field operations, invoicing, and documenting all aspects of assigned projects to ensure profitability and compliance. This role involves managing a wide range of environmental restoration projects, including but not limited to:
Reforestation and stream/wetland plantings
Bioretention and stormwater management installations and maintenance
Hydro-seeding, tree removal, and tree preservation
Invasive species management, sediment and erosion control
Bioengineering and native habitat restoration
The Project Manager will coordinate with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors (both large and small), government agencies, county parks and complexes, municipalities, homeowners, and inspectors across the MD/VA/DC region.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring project execution aligns with environmental regulations, project specifications, and company policies
Managing logistics while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity
Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and contracts
Preparing RFIs and submittal packages
Coordinating with internal staff and general contractors
Attending field and office meetings as required
We are seeking a candidate with a strong mix of regulatory knowledge and hands-on experience. Ideal candidates will be confident managing on-site operations and driving projects from initiation to completion.
Education and Experience
Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental restoration, landscaping, horticulture, or arboriculture
Valid U.S. drivers license with a clean driving record
Strong understanding of environmental restoration practices
Ability to identify native trees and shrubs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in basic computer applications
Spanish language skills a plus
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
Must be available to work MondayFriday, with occasional Saturdays during spring and fall seasons
Position Location
This position is based out of our Silver Spring, MD office and serves projects throughout the MD/VA/DC region.
Offered compensation: $65/yr - $85,000/yr
Experience and License Requirements
- Environmental restoration work
- Native and Non-native plant species ID
- OSHA 10 or 30 trained
- Two or four-year degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Valid driver's license
