Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) located in Riverside, CA. The SSHO will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing site safety protocols, conducting safety training, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and performing regular safety inspections. The role also involves identifying and mitigating potential risks, maintaining accurate safety documentation, and responding to incidents or emergencies as needed. The SSHO will collaborate with project managers and field teams to create a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment
- Experience in conducting safety training and creating safety documentation
- Ability to perform safety inspections, monitor compliance, and implement corrective actions
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
- Familiarity with the construction industry and its safety standards; certifications such as OSHA 30 or equivalent are preferred
- Ability to respond to safety incidents and emergencies with a calm and solution-oriented approach
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Three to five years of experience in a site safety or similar supervisory role is highly desirable
